Ocala Real Estate Market Report for February 2014

February was a great month for home sales in the Ocala Marion county area and it should be this is the height of snowbird season. The worse the winter is up north the better sales are here in Florida. Currently we have a little over 8 months of inventory. We are moving towards a neutral market, meaning not favoring either the buyer or seller. As I’ve said in past reports I think we will be in a sellers market in a year or two simply because there has been so little new construction since the market crashed in 2007.

I’ve sold a couple of houses to people who wanted to take advantage of our low prices before they go up but are they are keeping an existing home up north until prices rise there. This might be something to consider if you are in a position to do that. Interest rates are still very low by historical standards.
