Marion Landing Ocala Florida

Marion Landing entry sign

Marion Landing is a 55 plus retirement community located in SW Ocala. Marion Landing is in a great location just off SR 200 close to shopping, restaurants and hospitals. There is a nice clubhouse with it’s own bowling alley, a large solar heated  pool, tennis court and even a small fishing pond. HOA fees cover water and sewer, common area maintenance, all amenities and twice weekly curb side trash pickup.  Marion Landing was built over a period of 30 years. There is a mix of homes here.  There are mobile homes from the 1980’s, frame and vinyl construction and some very high quality newer block and stucco homes. Even older less expensive homes here show pride of ownership. Marion Landing is not gated but there is a night time security patrol. If you have a dog you cannot fence your yard here like some other nearby 55+.

Update 3/2015 HOA fees are still a very reasonable $112- month.

Update 3/16 HOA fees remain at $112- month which is a great deal considering they include water up to 35.000 gallons per quarter.

Update 1/30/17 HOA fees still $112 month. A great deal.

Update HOA fees are now $125- month and include water and sewer. Still a great deal.

Update 1/23/19 HOA fees are now $127- month and that includes water and sewer !

My husband and I are new retirees and looking for a place to rent (initially) in Ocala. Moblile home is just fine, price negotiable but prefer $1,000 or less per month. We prefer a 55 park with a swimming pool. We have 2 very small dogs who travel with us.

    Sincerely thanks,
    Christine and James fox

I will email you listings. Yes you own the land in Marion Landing. The only community in our area where you do not own the land is On Top of the World. According to the Marion County Property Appraiser there are 606 homes in Marion Landing

Just need more information about homes, prices, footage, how long that Marion Landing has existed. The fee of $112 does include water, if you use more than they say, how are you billed? Hurricanes in that area, home insurance, what about the tax exempt and how does that work in this community. What about a travel trailer? We have a 30 foot travel trailer, is there storage? We’re just beginning to check out Florida.

    Thank you

Marion Landing dates back to the early 80’s. Home prices vary a lot due to the size, type of construction and age of home. I have no idea how the HOA bills people. If you go over your water allotment then you are watering your lawn too much. Ocala is one of the least likely places in Florida to get hit by a hurricane. There is an RV lot like most 55+.

There are 55+ homes available up to $80K. Almost all are 2 bedroom, 2 bath and most have a 1 car garage with some having a 2 car garage.

You have to be 55 and older to live in any area 55+. The exception being in one spouse is younger than the other then just one person on the deed needs to be 55. Most communities make you prove your age via a divers license.

Letter of the Law: no golf carts on roads. Practical reality: not enforced, as is the case in Marion Landing and other communities as well. Golf carts commonly used within Marion Landing. Several carts can be seen at club house regularly and on streets w/in M.L. No guarantees enforcement won’t change, but I own & use cart as do many others in M.L. – a well managed & friendly community of middle-class folk.

Marion Landing like all local 55+ allows dogs. You could have your 2 small dogs but you can not fence your yard there.

Thanks for the info. Do any of the communities there allow a small fenced area or have a dog park? BTW, I just noticed you have an Airedale. I had Dales all my life until I got these little guys. Great dogs.

Most communities allow fences. Cherry Wood, Spruce Creek North, Spruce Creek Preserve, Oak Run except homes where the HOA includes lawn care, Candler Hills, Indigo East, Ocala Palms and Stone Creek all allow fences except on golf course lots. Summerglen and On Top of the World do allow fences but have a dog park.

I’ve had 4 Airedales so far in my life. They are great dogs !

Perfect. I plan on making a move sometime end of this year to early next year, so I will contact you then. My brother is also planning a move down there soon, but I’m not sure what area in Central Florida he’s interested in, but I will pass your name onto him.
    Thanks again

I am looking into Marion Landing but have a couple of questions.
    1. Can my children live with me there they are 30 and 23?
    2. Can you install a generator or solar panels?
    3. Can you plant a garden in your back yard area?
and are there any other restrictions.
    Thank you

There are no homes under $150K today in Marion Landing. Under $150K is a very low budget for our area right now.
