Well just when I thought we might make it through a second year without a frost we got a light one the last week of February. That was followed by a week of unusually high temperatures a few exceeding 80. That’s winter in Ocala.

March is a real spring month here. Temperatures in the mid 70’s and 60’s at night. No humidity. Some but not a lot of rain. The grass will green up. The azaleas will bloom. March is a great month.

I’ve already started my yard work. I’m pruning back shrubs that have grown too much over last summer. I’ll repair patches in my lawn. I have a company that fertilizes and does weed control. Later this month or early April I’ll mulch and finally get my driveway pressure washed. I try to finish everything by mid to late May when the humidity arrives. They I sit by my pool for the rest of the summer.
